Well I'm off to Rainier in a couple of hours! My dad lands at 1pm and then heads over to pick me up.
The plan is to train tomorrow and Sunday, which will consist of safety precautions...You know, if one starts to fall - what to do with th ice ax, or if one falls in a cravass - how to climb out. Hahaha, ahhh I'm trying to make light out of it all b/c I'm nervous as all hell!
Monday we will wake up, head over to the mountain and climb up to Camp Muir. The hike itself isn't bad, as long as the weather is nice. Last weekend when I went with Jerry it was pretty bad. The sun only broke out twice. When we get to Muir we will set up our tents, eat dinner, and then go to bed. At midnight we will wake up, and ascend our way up to the summit! It's safer this way, it's colder, so the glaciers are hard. During mid day, they soften a tad, especially if the sun is out, it gets very warm up there. Once we reach the top, we do our thing, whatever that may be, for me it's pictures and a little dance. We then head back down to the camp, pack up our things and head down to the bottom of the mountain. From there we go back to our cabin that we have for the night, and get ready for the massage I have waiting for me :)
I'll let you all know how it went when I get back!!!!!! Here are some pictures that I took from last weekends hike on Rainier.

I am very impressed and proud of you Miss Athletic 2007! You know, I felt like I climbed a mountain this morning getting out of bed. I did it all on my own too! Well, if you don't count Andres' hand pulling me up... This mountain on my belly has slowed me down big time!
Ok, it's Wednesday. Did you survive?
where's the photos of the real climb?? come on, i know you've got a story too.
